Lady Macbeth is a woman that yearns for power and when she learns of the witches’ prophecy, she decides to persuade her husband in killing King Duncan for power. Not stopping at that, she impels him to blame the King’s sleeping guards for the murder. She encourages Macbeth to become king even when he feels guilt and grief stricken.
Being Macbeth’s wife she uses her words and Macbeth’s male ego to trap him in her plans for power. She challenges his manhood, belittles the call of conscience and entices him with the fruits of power and kingship.
