In King Lear, there is some semblance of justice in the end. These final events provides a sense of catharsis in the audiences. The deaths of evil sisters, Goneril and Regan and the sinister Edmund are moving and cathartic. Even the tragic realization that dawn over Lear regarding Cordelia after her death provides a cathartic experience. This indicates a modicum of justice for Cordelia. Even the end of Lear after making the fatal judgment and disowning Cordelia sparks a feeling of satisfaction among the audiences.Similarly, the end of Edmund’s scheme without any fruits bring a level of emotional relief.
