The female protagonists are the moral centres, while most of the male characters either remain apathetic or indulge in destructive violence. And in her novels women are shown as being oppressed and used as a commodity. They are the one who have to bear the brunt of the wrong doings done by men. Revenge is taken by violating the rights of women. One of the example is Cracking India or The Ice Candy Man.
