“more happy” or “happier”. Which one is correct?

1 Answer

  1. In a two syllabled adjective which ends in -y, we use -ier in the end for comparative degrees. So, happier is usually used for comparing two things. e.g. Poonam is happier than her friend.

However there is nothing wrong with using more happy instead of happier because, in two syllabled adjectives, we can use more. e.g. I will be more than happy to assist you.
