This is the first line of the poem The Gift of India. It is a rhetoric question to the world. Mother India asks the people of the world if she has ever denied anything what they asked for. In other words, India always lend a helping hand to those in need. However, here the poet is specifically talking about the most precious gift i.e. her sons who fought for British on foreign lands.
