In this poem, Shakespeare records consolations against death probably to comfort the people who are mourning over the death of their loved one or he may be consoling those who are dead. From the very beginning, the poet portrays a positive picture of death. According to him, death is not something which brings grief and sorrow. On contrary, it provides relief and peace from worldly troubles and hardships.
