Instead of saying “please” or “thank you” try saying “(name), would you please (action)?” or “(name), would (action)?”. Because those words are polite and polite people tend to be less stubborn and more agreeable.
Call or write or email the person who needs it. If they’re at work, speak with them in person. Be direct. Let them know it’s the responsibility, not yours.
