The tiny thrush fights the gloomy environment to sing a song and spread the faith of having Hope. The “aged thrush, frail, gaunt and small” with “blast-be ruffled plume” sings a song with all its heart. The poet feels that the tiny thrush is singing as it has discovered some blessed hope which the poet is not aware of. Even in such a bleak weather, the thrush is out and singing a song. This shows how people should have optimism on life and overcome all the hardships. This is how the tiny thrush emerges as a harbinger of hope.
