Lady Macbeth is a woman of lofty desires and greed. She overpowers her husband and compels him to kill King Duncan in order to fulfil their joined destiny as rulers. But she did not predict that one murder would lead to an endless series of bloodshed.
The guilt and regret turns into paranoia and she finally loses her wits and sanity. Thus, even without committing murder herself, she dies tragic and lonely.
