“go to see” or “go see”, which one is appropriate?

1 Answer

  1. There is no simple rule on when to use “go to see” or “go see”. Some grammarians will tell you that “go see” is used when the object of the verb  is a place, but you may wish to check with a more reliable source.

It depends on the meaning of the sentence. e.g. When you are going to see someone as a guest, you should use “go to see”. But when you are going to see someone as a helper, you should use “go see”.
