In the poem ‘Mending Wall’, there are few major symbols.
Stone Wall- The wall which the poet and the neighbour are trying to repair is the symbol for barrier which human beings create between them.
Fence- ‘Good fence makes good neighbour’ means that one staying inside one’s boundary causes no trouble with neighbour and everything works fine.
Pine and Apple – They stand as symbol for individuality of everything and how something which is essentially different from another can not interfere and take advantage anyway.
