Yes, Aunt Jennifer’s Tigers is definitely a tragic poem. It describes the condition of Aunt Jennifer who is a victim of male dominated society and failed marriage. Her fingers tremble as birds flutter. The psychological weight of Uncle’s wedding marriage band makes it difficult for her to work. She appeared to have been imprisoned in the trap of marriage.
Even, after her death, the ring will remain attached to her fingers which means she won’t be free even after her death. The only way of her escape from the harsh reality is her carved tigers which make her feel a little bit better.
